Intro
The Air Force Aid Society (AFAS) provides emergency and financial assistance to Air Force members, both active duty and retired, and their dependents through interest-free loans or grants.

Emergency Financial Assistance
- Airman & Family Readiness Center staff members are trained to administer this program. Eligible members that qualify have access to interest free loans which can assist in meeting financial obligations. Emergency assistance can include the following; rent, food, utility bills, emergency travel due to death in the family or funeral expenses, car repairs, medical or dental expenses, and loans or grants for education. Falcon loans
- The Falcon Loan is a loan of $500 or less that can be used for emergency needs such as basic living expenses (e.g., rent, utilities, food), car repairs, emergency travel, or other approved needs. The streamlined application process for a Falcon Loan requires no budget information, backup documentation, or first sergeant/commander approval. Minimal information required to process an allotment or Paymatic transaction (automatic withdrawal from bank account) and your signature is all that is needed to complete the application.
